Seasoned with Salt

Colossians 4:6, ‘Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.’ (KJV)

I meditate on this scripture, on this Word of God which resonates within my soul, and I question whether I am doing just that. Are my words seasoned with salt? Are they covered in grace?

I would like to think so, to believe so, as I strive to ask that He always guides my pen.

But I am only human.

Bursting with happiness most of the time. Swimming in doubt infested waters the rest.

Over two decades ago, with the help of a family friend who owned a printer and knew a few things about stapling a book together, we published Shades of Life.

Shades of Life was a collection of my poetry from that period of my life. Even then, my writing reflected realistic heartache and emotional turmoil encased in hope.

My about me sections in most profiles, share of my childhood dream of becoming a ballerina. That was until I picked up the mighty pen.

The mighty pen. The enchanting instrument used to bring forth the sentiments from my soul onto the blank pages and prayerfully into the reader’s heart, has now created Unwavering Moments.

A collection of my most reader worthy stanzas from Shades of Life along with my newest works.

Praying to continue to write with fearless and empathetic strokes. I want the reader to question their unbelief in God Almighty. To turn away from the heartbreaking decision they are about to make. To forgive. To know, to believe without a doubt, that God loves them. Jesus is the answer and the Holy Bible is written for them. For you. For me.

Recently, I encountered a woman who asked if I had an agent.

Without hesitation I responded, “Only God.”

It was at that moment, I realized, He was enough.

Seasoned with salt, always with grace.

May He ever guide my pen.
